BENEFITS OF ELECTRONICS

The role of a student in choosing a career path is very important hence after 10th standard one of the options is taking up the combination PCME – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Electronics, in the science stream. Though PCM is common to other science streams, Electronics is an interesting subject and is the very basis of Information and Computer Age as represented by artificial intelligence, and ultra high-speed, massively-parallel computers.

The goal of the education in Electronics is to lay a foundation to develop human resources who can pioneer Electronics. Electronics is highly advanced and practical oriented, which provides students the basic foundation necessary before they take up Engineering. This also helps them in their initial engineering days as the syllabus of the first and second semester is similar to what they would have already studied in PU. The curriculum is well organized so that a good educational foundation can be acquired in microcontrollers and Programming Languages. Some Engineering fields are listed below:

Aeronautical Engineering - involves design, manufacture and operation of aircraft, spacecraft, missiles and rockets.
Biomedical Engineering - apply engineering principles and techniques to the medical field
Mechanical Engineering - design, build and test machines, engines and other mechanical devices.
Chemical Engineering - design equipment and processes for large-scale chemical manufacturing, plan and test methods of manufacturing products and treating by-products, and supervise production.
Civil Engineering - involves plan, design, construct and maintain structures – such as buildings, roads, bridges and dams – that meet human needs.
Sustainability Design Engineering - for complying with the principles of economic, social, and ecological sustainability in their design of physical objects. These objects may range from small items for everyday use to large buildings, cities, and even the earth's physical surface.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering - design, develop, test and supervise the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment such as, Broadcast and communications systems, Electric motors, machinery controls, and lighting and wiring in buildings, automobiles, aircraft, and radar and navigation systems, Power generating, controlling and transmission devices used by electric utilities
Systems Engineering - to draw from many engineering fields and backgrounds to combine emerging technologies to create new ideas and materials.
Biomechanical Engineering - to look at how engineering can be applied to the human body
Photonics Engineering - is the science of generating, controlling, and detecting photons especially in the visible light spectrum.
  Computer software Engineering
  Computer hardware Engineering
Nuclear Engineering - to research and develop the processes, instruments and systems needed to derive benefits from nuclear energy and radiation.
Mineral Engineering - includes mining, metallurgical and petroleum engineers, who are focused on extracting minerals from the ground and converting them to pure forms.
Agricultural Engineering - apply engineering technology and biological science to agriculture, and design agricultural machinery and equipment.
Mechatronics - is a new emerging multidisciplinary engineering field which provides broad based education in the basic principles of electrical, mechanical and computer engineering. It involves the integration of Mechanical engineering with Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Control engineering, and Systems Design engineering to create useful products and processes.

As Electronics is an emerging field, there are plenty of opportunities, especially abroad.

Statistics: Unveiling Patterns in Data

Statistics, a branch of mathematics, serves as the art and science of collecting, analysing, interpreting, presenting, and organizing data. It plays a crucial role in decision-making processes across various fields, enabling individuals and organizations to make informed choices based on empirical evidence.

Applications:
Statistics is used in virtually all scientific disciplines, such as the physical and social sciences as well as in business, the humanities, government, and manufacturing. The following are some of disciplines which make use of Statistics

• Healthcare: Clinical trials, epidemiology, public health research.
• Science: Experimental design, data analysis in research.
• Social Sciences: Surveys, demographic studies, psychology research.
• Business and Economics: Market research, financial analysis, risk management.
